Ready to get outside? Race Through the Rockies brings you a virtual 5k, 10k, and 1mi race experience that can be completed via run, walk, hike, bike, etc. at any location. Racers throughout Colorado can choose to run the race from home, or select from a list of fun race destinations. Enhance your experience with a list of socially distanced activities near your selected finish line! Gather your family, invite your friends (near and far), upload photos and race times to the event community, create an individual fundraising page, and sport your race t-shirt. Race Through the Rockies provides a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to join together in a safe activity while encouraging exploration and fitness outdoors. See you at the finish line!

The proceeds from each race signup benefit the mission of the Junior League of Colorado Springs to promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women, and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. This includes the JLCS Focus Area of Fostering Change — efforts to provide resources to current and former foster youth focused on the risk factors associated with aging out of foster care, such as homelessness, human trafficking, and domestic violence.
Eligible participants are able to win a Garmin Vivoactive 3 GPS smartwatch! To be eligible for prizes, you must submit timed results to your racer profile between April 1-18 using any of the three available options (see "Submitting Race Times"). All winners will be confirmed on April 19 and announced on this website and via our Facebook event page so all racers have a chance to complete the race. Four prizes will be awarded for the following:
10k - First participant to submit their race time
5k - First participant to submit their race time
Participant who raises the largest amount via individual fundraiser
Best race photo posted to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter shared to our social media event page or using hashtag #RaceThroughTheRockies

There are three options for submitting race times. An expanded explanation with examples is available from RunSignup.
To submit race times manually, navigate to the the Result tab on this page, then select Submit Virtual Results. After locating your registration, select your activity (run, walk, hike, bike, etc.), enter your time in [Hour : Minute: Second] format, and enter the number of race miles (3.1 mi for 5k, 6.2 mi for 10k, 1 mi for fun run). There is also an optional section to submit elevation gain. Results can only be submitted during the race event April 1 - April 18.
If you opt into "TXT results" either during registration or by editing your race profile after registration, you will receive text messages containing the keyword, bib number and format for texting in your results. To submit your results, reply to the text message (or text 49514) with the Keyword, your bib number and your finish time. If successful, you will receive a confirmation that your time has been submitted. Results can only be submitted during the race event April 1 - April 18.
Participants may also submit their virtual results by uploading their GPS activity recorded while using third party devices or tracking tools. When you navigate to the Results tab on this website, select "Submit Virtual Results". After locating your registration, you will see a "Load Activity from File" button which will allow you to easily uploading a .GPX or .FIT file from your computer. Your personalized data will automatically fill in, including the Distance, Date, Elevation Gain, and Time fields from the activity file being submitted. Results can only be submitted during the race event April 1 - April 18.
The following links provide explanations on how to export compatible activity data from Strava, Garmin Connect, Polar, and Runkeeper. Apple Watch data can be exported and formatted to .FIT and .GPX files using the HealthFit App (see instructions here). For MapMyRun, login to mapmyfitness via computer, and select your activity from the list. Go to the "more" tab, and click "Download GPX". Fitbit exports .TCX files only, but you can convert .TXC to the required .GPX using the TCX converter program.
